Curebound is on a bold mission: to accelerate cures for cancer in our lifetime. The organization is seeking a Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) a onecareer opportunity for a passionate, proactive changemaker ready to unleash new models of philanthropy, build powerful partnerships, and fuel the next wave of breakthroughs.

The CAO will join Curebound amid the heightened energy of new CEO Robin Tofts recent appointment, effective January1,2026. The CAO will serve as a critical thought partner to the CEO and lead the organizations revenue generation through fundraising, development, and partnership efforts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of a donorcentric and majorgiftsfocused moves management program.
• Grow the major gift pipeline and mature midlevel and annual giving programs.
• Expand corporate partnership revenue and enhance stewardship initiatives to improve donor retention.
• Develop and execute a national fundraising strategy that scales the donor base beyond San Diego.
• Partner with the CEO, Board of Directors, Scientific Advisors, and senior leadership on highlevel fundraising initiatives.
• Assess and optimize the fundraising teams organizational structure and functional alignment.
• Explore strategic expansion into key geographies consistent with annual goals and objectives.

Qualifications

• Mission driven and passionate about cancer research.
• Fifteen or more years of experience in philanthropy, corporate growth, revenue generation strategy, or business development, with at least seven years in a multifaceted leadership role.
• Demonstrated success in building and executing strategic revenue plans of $10million to $25million or more.
• Expertise in donor cultivation and stewardship best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and relationshipbuilding skills.
• Strong strategic and critical thinking skills with a history of datadriven decisionmaking.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience partnering with diverse board and volunteer committees.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Experience working with Salesforce or a similar customer relationship management tool.
