Job Description

The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description The New York Senate Minority Conference is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join their team in Albany. The Communications Coordinator is responsible for creating and executing a communications strategy for the members of the Senate Republican Conference. This role involves collaboration with offices in Albany, as well as regional and district offices, to develop effective communication strategies. The coordinator will also implement these strategies and create content for social media platforms.In this dynamic role, you will: •Develop and curate engaging content for social media platforms•Maintain a consistent brand voice across all social media channels•Create content that builds a cohesive narrative for state and local messaging•Organize and assist with press conferences and special events, which may require travel•Assist in the development, writing, editing, and distribution of internal and external communications materials as necessary•Research public policy issues of local, regional, and statewide significance.

Minimum Qualifications To move forward, you must: •Have a passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools•Be proficient with video and photo editing tools, digital media formats, and HTML•Possess excellent social listening skills•Have the ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in the digital content & social media space•Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with others•Speak and write professionally and persuasively•Meet strict deadlines•Follow oral and written directions•Be able to work independently•Collaborate with others as part of a teamWriting and digital media knowledge necessary i.e. Facebook, Instagram, X skills is required.
