Overview The Patient Safety Attendant provides either 1:1 or 1:2 focused, non‑clinical observation of patients identified with safety risks. The Attendant maintains a safe environment, remains with the patient at all times to provide ongoing observation, and alerts nursing staff as patient care needs arise. Responsibilities Respond to patient requests promptly and courteously, notifying appropriate personnel in a timely manner. Report unusual occurrences immediately to a charge nurse or supervisor. Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable patient environment. Assist nursing personnel as needed with positioning, holding, feeding, and toileting; understand how to obtain emergency assistance if required. Ensure competency in all required skills and complete competency assessment annually per the documented competency checklist; adhere to documented policies and processes and perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
