PMRC Forestry Technician II Position Summary: Assist Plantation Management Research Cooperative (PMRC) field crew with a variety of field work and data collection. This will entail measuring characteristics of pine and hardwood trees in the field, fertilization, and installation of research plots. Extensive travel is required to visit research installations. Posting Number: G/R23413P Employment Type: Employee FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt Full‑Time Equivalent: 1.00 Collect accurate data (measurements) on pine research plots across the 10 state southern region and install pine research plots in new locations. (70% of time) Apply fertilizer to pine research studies across the 10 state southern region. (20% of time) Maintain forestry equipment and vehicles. (10% of time) Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification: High school diploma; experience in forest measurements preferred. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Understanding of forestry measurements and tools. Physical Demands: Willingness to work in extreme temperatures and lift fifty‑pound bags of fertilizer repeatedly.
