We are currently seeking a Composite Technician to support our NAVSEA Carderock customer. This position is contingent upon contract award. Required Education : A high school/vocational degree or GED certificate and, (a) an American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) Composite Boat Builder certification, or (b) at least three years of demonstrated experience with hand lamination, vacuum assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM), and prepreg lamination in an industrial environment. Ability to plan, prepare, and execute composite manufacturing and repair projects with a team. Desired Education : Five years of demonstrated experience performing laminations in a boatyard or shipyard environment; five years of demonstrated experience assembling or repairing composite hulls, bulkheads, or components using adhesive bonding and mechanical fastening; and/or five years of demonstrated experience fabrication and repair of cored composite components. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
