Akkodis is seeking a Mainframe Developer for a Contract with a client in Indianapolis, IN / Plano, TX / Boston, MA / Portsmouth, NH/ Seattle, WA. The ideal candidate will design, code, and maintain mainframe applications while ensuring quality through testing and issue resolution.
Rate Range: $37/hour to $44/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Mainframe Developer job responsibilities include:
Design, code, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, IMS DB, DB2, JCL, and MQ Series.
Collaborate with QA teams to ensure thorough testing and quality assurance of applications.
Perform peer reviews of code and technical documentation to maintain coding standards and best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve system performance issues, coordinating with support teams for hardware and software fixes.
Assist in research and issue resolution for business data processing and participate in on-call rotation for application failures.
Monitor system performance and proactively address issues to ensure reliability and scalability.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5–8 years of experience in mainframe application development.
Strong proficiency in IBM mainframes, COBOL, IMS DB, DB2, JCL, MQ Series, and Xpeditor.
Ability to design, code, test, and maintain applications while collaborating with QA teams and performing peer code reviews.
