Job Summary

As the Chief Administrative Officer in the absence of hospital management, this role ensures seamless operations across all departments. Your ability to communicate effectively will be essential in solving issues and providing support.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular rounds on all units to support nursing teams, coaching Charge Nurses and staff RNs on problem-solving and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with the Resource Staffing Department to maintain optimal staffing levels throughout the hospital.
• Address patient and family complaints by working closely with the Customer Service Department, documenting incidents and coordinating with the necessary personnel.
• Partner with the Administrator on call to manage customer complaints and coordinate bed management issues effectively.
• Review cases as necessary for the Medical Examiner/Coroner and handle relevant documentation.
• Support Employee Health and Infection Control policies regarding staff and patient safety.
• Act as Planning Chief and Incident Commander during disasters, managing alerts and procedures.
• Work with Security and Engineering teams to address various facility issues, ensuring safety and operational integrity.
• Assist Public Relations in managing media inquiries related to patient conditions.
• Provide support in sensitive personnel matters, ensuring compliance with policies and appropriate documentation.
• Manage critical HR issues in the absence of management, ensuring fair treatment of employees and adherence to policies.

Supervisory/Management Responsibility

This position does not have direct management responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• 5 years of Nursing experience

Licenses and Certifications

Current South Carolina R.N. License (Lawson Code NLRN)
